Police officers gave a K-9 demonstration last Thursday to children attending the Vacation Bible School at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre in Baughers Bay.

The children got to see the canine officers at work in finding prohibited items, protecting their handlers, and obeying simple commands like “sit” and “stay,” according to the Police Information Office.

They also got to play with one of the dogs, “Officer Patty,” and learned that many types of dogs can be used to help detect and solve various crimes.

Three police officers are currently undergoing a basic K-9 handler training, which commenced on Aug. 12 and will conclude tomorrow.
The session is being conducted by Paris Nicholson of K-9 Pipeline Training Academy LLC.
