Thank you for the May 16 front-page article on the renovations planned for the Old Administration Building — and particularly the focus on the three plaques on the building that contain historical information.
Because I was involved in placing the plaques there, I followed up with the Deputy Governor’s Office requesting permission to remove and restore them and to keep them safe until the building was ready for them to be remounted.
I was told this was all already planned, and so I was not able to proceed.
But I am grateful for your focus on the history of the building, and I live in hope that the promised work will be done and the plaques will be restored and replaced in the future.
