It’s good news that Royal Caribbean is restarting Celebrity cruises based on St. Marten. But before we get too excited, please note it is for a limited season from June 5 through August.
The line will operate alternate seven-day itineraries, with alternate weeks calling at Road Town. This means that at most we can expect only five calls. After that, who knows?
I expect shore excursions will be severely restricted to passenger “bubbles” so as to limit interaction with residents. Maybe they will be restricted to the pier park, with armed guards to keep them in and us out?
This will restrict business opportunities for us. Still, it’s a start.
If the warm-layup ships are still there by then, one of them will have to move out each time we get a call.
