A 30-year-old man was arrested on Aug. 31 after police stopped and searched a vehicle he was driving and found marijuana, according to the Police Information Office.
Casheem Walter, 30, of Josiah Bay, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of cannabis and two counts of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, police said.
Officers seized more than 500 grams of the drug, according to the PIO. A “quantity of cash” was also seized, the PIO stated without disclosing the amount.
Mr. Walter was granted bail of $5,000 for his appearance before the Magistrates’ Court on Oct. 27, the police said.
Inspector Durville Carty, who heads the Armed Response Team, has vowed to keep the pressure on anyone who wants to move firearms and drugs through the territory, police said.
