A Sea Cows Bay man has been charged with wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm following a shooting early on June 6 that left one man injured, police said.

Walter Springette, 37, was charged last Thursday by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department, police said Friday.

They did not say why he was not charged with a firearm offence, but they explained that the arrest followed “investigations into” the Sea Cows Bay shooting.

The victim, they added, reported to the hospital with a single wound to his back.

Mr. Springette was expected to appear before the Magistrates’ Court at its next available sitting, police said Friday, adding that investigations into the incident were ongoing.
