An unidentified man is dead after police received a report that he was “behaving erratically” at Village Cay in the early hours of Friday morning, according to the Police Information Office.
After police responded to the incident, the man was transported to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital for treatment and subsequently pronounced dead, according to a four-sentence statement that Police Information Officer Akia Thomas provided to the Beacon on Tuesday.
“Investigations are active,” the statement added. “More information will be provided as necessary.”
The same day, Ms. Thomas confirmed that the man had not been identified.
Police did not provide further information as of the Beacon’s print deadline yesterday afternoon.
