A man was shot to death outside the Long Look Clinic yesterday at about 7:30 p.m., according to police.
“We believe the incident occurred at around 19:30, but there are some conflicting accounts of various witnesses,” Detective Inspector Nigel Niven said.
Mr. Niven declined to give further details about the shooting.
Opposition Leader Dr. Orlando Smith identified the victim as Kerry Harrigan, the son of nurse Betsey Donovan, in a press release condemning the shooting.
Police are “following a number of lines of inquiry,” Mr. Niven said. As of yet, he said, police are unsure of whether the shooting is linked to other recent violent crime in the territory.
“We don’t know for sure, but we’re keeping an open mind,” he said.
