Ian Penn

Ian Penn has been confirmed to act in the post of chief immigration officer for one year effective Nov. 1, government announced Tuesday.

He will replace Guy Hill, who had been acting in the position since Dennis Jennings retired last year.

Before his appointment, Mr. Penn acted as deputy chief immigration officer, and he has served in the Immigration Department for more than 20 years, according to Government Information Services.

His work experience also includes time in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Mr. Penn is a graduate of the University of East London’s School of Law, and he holds an associate’s degree in business administration from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, according to GIS.
