Deputy Premier Dr. Kedrick Pickering joined environment ministers from around the world last week during the 11th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity in Hyderabad, India.

During an Oct. 16 speech, Dr. Pickering discussed the link between tourism and biodiversity conservation in the Caribbean overseas countries and territories, according to Government Information Services. He was speaking before more than 106 delegates at the Global Islands Partnership’s High-level Event on Leadership and Commitment to Action.

Other speakers included ministers and officials from the UN and European Union, according to GIS.
