With modifications to the Festival Village Grounds, no-parking signs reposted, and the Road Town Shuttle Service circling the business district, police will issue tickets to motorists parked in no-parking zones in Road Town, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton warned on Monday.

Road Traffic Unit Head Kishon Leslie said that no-parking signs that were destroyed after Hurricane Irma have been reinstalled.

He added that officers will issue tickets “for those who insist on parking their vehicles particularly on the lay-bys along Waterfront Drive.”

“We are giving fair warning to motorists. The lay-by is intended for motorists who need to pull off for short stops. It was never intended for parking,” Mr. Leslie said.

Ms. Drayton reminded the public that yellow paint along the side of the street indicates a no-parking zone.
