The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s Road Safety Campaign is in its second month, but many motorists are still not following the proper rules of the road, according to Inspector Dariel Robinson, the head of the Road Policing Unit.
Mr. Robinson remarked that some drivers view tinted windows as a “harmless addition” to their vehicles, but said they can pose a “real danger” to law enforcers and members of the public.
“Heavily tinted vehicles provide the ideal cover for criminals who want to remain obscure on the roadways,” he said.
Mr. Robinson added that police have also issued 180 tickets to people not wearing their seat belts.
