The electronics store iSmart on deCastro Street was burgled over the weekend, police reported on Tuesday.

Laptops, cell phones and other electronics were taken, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said.

Police reported that the burglary was one of many that have taken place recently in the Road Town and Wickhams Cay area.

“Police believe that the same group of offenders may be responsible for break-ins and are warning retailers to ensure their premises are properly secured with alarms and CCTV,” Ms. Drayton said.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department are investigating these commercial burglaries, Ms. Drayton said in the release, though she did not specify what other businesses had been burgled.

Anyone who may have been offered “new, cheap electrical items” should contact police, she said.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to call 311 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
