Police are urging residents to take precautions to ensure that houses, businesses and vehicles are secure ahead of the events scheduled for this weekend, including the Buju Banton concert on Saturday.

They’ve asked residents who are planning to be out all night to lock their property securely or ask somebody to look after their home.

Police are also asking that residents stay mindful of their surroundings, especially if they are carrying large sums of money. They’ve warned against wearing expensive items or jewellery to the weekend’s events.

Vehicle owners are being encouraged to park in well-lit areas and to remove all valuables from vehicles parked throughout Road Town.

Extra police patrols will be used throughout the territory, and the force has asked residents to be patient to responses for non-emergency situations.
