More than 2,000 cannabis plants were seized in two anti-drug operations on Virgin Gorda this month, Sergeant Selwyn Rock said yesterday.

“We did an operation around the 18th of March that involved a multi-agency operation: police, customs,” Mr. Rock said. “And they were able to take up over 2,000 plants.”

In a second operation on March 20, Mr. Rock said, another 163 plants were seized.

“It’s all part of our ongoing anti-drug campaign,” he said.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the case, Mr. Rock said, but police continue to investigate the origin of the plants.
