Thanks to a Virgin Islands law firm and the Department of Agriculture, students at Joyce Samuel Primary School will get their hands dirty and gain valuable farming skills at a new greenhouse built on their campus.
A ceremony was held on June 2 to launch the project, which was funded by Ogier and built by the Department of Agriculture.
Arona Fahie-Forbes, deputy chief agricultural officer, said it is important for young people to get involved in farming. “Youth in agriculture is necessary for the sector to remain sustainable,” Ms. Fahie-Forbes said.
