Police received a report that an inmate at Her Majesty’s Prison sustained stab wounds on Dec. 3, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said Tuesday.
The inmate was taken to the Dr. Orlando Smith Hospital for treatment, and his condition subsequently was reported as stable, Ms. Drayton added.
She said she did not know whether he was still hospitalised on Tuesday.
“Investigations are ongoing,” Ms. Drayton added. She did not provide further information, and attempts to reach Prison Superintendent Verne Garde were not successful.
