Nicole Jackson, a United States R&B singer, songwriter and actress, is to take the stage at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Ms. Jackson, who has been singing for most of her life, has performed with musicians including the Isley Bros, Chaka Khan, Rufus, Tito Jackson, the Gap Band and others, according to the college.

She also toured for 18 months as a singer and actor in a Tyler Perry theatrical production, “The Marriage Counsellor.”

The artist, who counts Stevie Wonder as a major inspiration, is currently at work on a new CD, among other projects.

HLSCC’s annual Performing Arts Series, which used to focus primarily on jazz and classics, has been diversified in recent years to include other genres of music, as well as dance and gospel showcases.
