The BVI Horse Owners’ Association hosted five races on Sunday at the Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay.

In the first race, a seven-furlong event, Walk the Tiger of St. Thomas took first place in its debut. Blood in the Sand and Power of  Ten took second and third place respectively.

The second race was also a seven-furlong sprint.

Northern Pike crossed the finish line first, while Gafflione came in second and Rocky Miswaki of St. Thomas took third.

Khun Dan of St. Thomas was scratched.

The third match up featured three horses running a six-furlong race. The course record is held by Moonlight Event with at time of 1:28.”

Glorious Memory won the race followed by Tiger’s Mischief and Natural Concerto. The event carried a $3,000 purse.

The feature race carried a $5,000 purse, which was won by Really Uptown. Good Prospecting came in second and Broken Home in its debut took third in the seven-furlong race. Moonlight Event also holds the course record in 1:28.”

The fifth race featured three horses running in a one-mile event.  Square one walked away with the $3,500 purse, while Sweet Sight of St. Thomas took second and All Country came in third.

The next race is scheduled for December. 26.
