Some 500 visitors from across the Caribbean are expected to arrive in the Virgin Islands on May 13 for the weeklong Rotary District 7020 Conference, organisers said during a press conference last Thursday that announced LIME as the official sponsor of the event.

For the first time, the territory will host the annual conference that invites Rotary members and guests from Anguilla, the Bahamas, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Martin, Saint Barths, Turks and Caicos, the United States Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands, according to District 7020 Governor Vance Lewis.

“This is going to be the best conference District 7020 has ever had,” Mr. Lewis said, drawing applause from an audience of about 30 seated in the LIME store on Flemming Street.

The six-day event will be based at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, with other events — such as a cultural night and rum tasting — taking place at Nanny Cay Resort, Bamboushay Lounge, U.P.’s Cineplex and Oil Nut Bay resort on Virgin Gorda. Mr. Lewis said organisers plan to “engage the entire community.”
