Sections of the James Walter Francis Drive in Road Town were closed Friday, and they will remain closed for about five days to accommodate sewerage work in the area, the Ministry of Communications and Works announced Thursday.

The eastbound lane of the road will be closed from the Quastisky building to the Ward building, the westbound lane from the Omar Hodge building to the James Frett building that houses Deloitte.

Traffic going east will be diverted to Fish Lock Road, westbound traffic along the road in the vicinity of the House of Assembly.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate the upgrading of sewer pipelines in the area.

The ministry is apologising for the inconvenience, and urging the public to exercise caution and obey all road signs, traffic signals and traffic control personnel.
