There were no reindeer, sleighs or chimneys, but Santa Claus managed to find his way to the Virgin Islands on Thursday, delivering more than 150 presents to schoolchildren at Maria’s by the Sea.

The visit was part of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association’s annual Children’s Holiday Party, which came to the VI for the seventh time this year.

The students lined up according to their ages to wait their turn to interact with the white-bearded gift-bearer. Many of them ran to him and embraced him before collecting toys provided by FCCA volunteers dressed as elves.

The VI recipients were just one group of children who benefit from the FCCA’s holiday cheer in 29 cruise ship destinations, according to an FCCA representative.
