A 72-year-old Carrot Bay man was charged in connection with a wreck that resulted in the death of Belmont Estate resident Henrique David Dos Santos last March, police said Tuesday.
Officers of the Road Policing Unit charged Ulric Pilgrim, 72, of Carrot Bay, for the offence of causing death by careless driving, according to the Police Information Office.
Mr. Dos Santos, a native of South Africa known as “Ricky,” was driving a scooter headed toward Road Town on March 1 when he collided with a vehicle entering the highway from Havers, according to police.
Mr. Pilgrim was granted bailed of $25,000 with one surety to appear at Magistrates’ Court on March 23, police said.
