A man is in stable condition at Peebles Hospital after receiving gunshot wounds in his shoulder and hand while driving in Nottingham Estate Saturday night, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said.

According to Ms. Drayton, several bullets were fired into the man’s car at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Despite being shot, he drove to East End Police Station, where he reported the incident and was taken to Peebles Hospital.

Police received a report of additional shots fired near the Bat Cave bar on Wickhams Cay I at about 4 a.m. Sunday and “found several casings” outside, Ms. Drayton said. No injuries were reported in connection with that shooting.

An armed robbery was reported in Baughers Bay at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, with cash, keys and documents being stolen, Ms. Drayton said.

The victim “was robbed at gunpoint by a male assailant,” she said.

On Monday morning, an attempted robbery at gunpoint ended with a taxicab crashing through a house next to the Ellis Thomas Downs racetrack in Sea Cows Bay, Ms. Drayton said.

“A taxi driver was dropping someone out at the Sea Cows Bay area where an attempted robbery was made on him,” Ms. Drayton said. “He fled, and in moving away, he lost control of the vehicle.”

Nobody was seriously injured in the collision, which was reported to police at about 7:30 a.m., Ms. Drayton said.
