A sexual assault was reported to have taken place at Prospect Reef in the early morning of March 13, Police Superintendent Alwin James said yesterday.

“It was on a vessel in Prospect Reef,” he said.

The report indicates that a single female victim was sexually assaulted by a male stranger who boarded the boat, Mr. James said.

The investigation is ongoing, the officer said. He declined to give a description of the alleged attacker or to provide other information.

The incident follows a set of burglaries at Manuel Reef Marina late last month, when thieves entered three occupied boats early in the morning and absconded with cash and electronics, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.
