A man who was shot to death in the parking lot across from the U.P.’s Cineplex in Road Town on Feb. 12 has been identified as Jahkeem Christopher, a 23-year-old native of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, police announced on Monday.

Mr. Christopher, who was visiting the Virgin Islands at the time of his death, was identified by family members residing on Tortola, according to the Police Information Office.

In connection with the death, Hasani Frett, of Greenland, was charged with murder, inflicting grievous bodily harm, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, police said.

He appeared before Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to prison. Detectives are aware that other people were involved in the killing as well, and officers are therefore seeking any information that could help with identifying them, according to the PIO.
