Nateshon “Shadow” Thomas is currently playing baseball on a  professional European team.

 

The Virgin Islander played his first game on Sunday with the Bad Homburg Hornets of Germany. He started as shortstop in the first game of the doubleheader and batted 1 for 2 with a double. He also  had a stolen base. 

In the second game, Mr. Thomas played as the pitcher for three innings. He struck out five batters.

The Hornets were promoted to the German First League in 2011 and play in the South Division.  All told, the league has 15 teams. 

In the past, Mr. Thomas has played baseball and softball for the VI, including the national fastpitch softball team.

In April, he competed on the BVI National Softball Team at a tournament in Nassau, Bahamas. He helped the team to third-place finish. Mr. Thomas was also crowned the batting champion of the tournament and was named best third baseman.

His contract with the professional team expires in September.
