Justice Rita Joseph-Olivetti held sentencing proceedings in three cases in High Court Friday, resulting in prison terms for three men.

Roland Allen, a 34-year-old former school bus driver, pleaded guilty on May 9 to two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, and one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16. He was sentenced to eight years in prison for the first set of charges and four years for the latter charge. The terms will run concurrently. Ms. Joseph-Olivetti ordered videotapes of the sexual encounters, which were found in Mr. Allen’s home, destroyed.

Kyle Baronville, 22, pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage and one count of dangerous driving in connection with a 2008 Road Town collision. The incident severely injured two pedestrians. Mr. Baronville also caused thousands of dollars in property damage to two vehicles and a concrete building. He was sentenced to three years for the criminal damage charges, and two years for dangerous driving, all to run concurrently.

Akim Stevens, 21, who was found guilty on May 12 of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with a 2009 Virgin Gorda home invasion, was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Joseph-Olivetti suspended one year of the sentence.

Time spent on remand will count towards the sentences of all three men, who were each represented by Richard Rowe.

High Court jurors are being asked to return to court on Thursday.
