Last Friday, police received two reports hours apart of masked men entering homes and tying up the residents inside, according to two police press releases.

That afternoon, three masked men, one of whom was armed with a gun, entered the Virgin Gorda home of an EMCS Caribbean employee, where they used straps to tie up members of his family and demand money and information on his whereabouts, according to a press release police issued Fri-day night.

Before police arrived on the scene, the perpetrators fled, leaving the family unharmed, the press release stated.

Second incident

Later Friday evening, police received a report that two masked men, one of whom was armed with a gun, entering the East End home of a Scaffco Shutters employee.

They used clothing to tie up the employee’s family members and searched through their belongings, grabbing jewellery and cash before fleeing ahead of the police’s arrival, the press release stated.

Anyone with knowledge of either incident is asked to contact the police emergency number 911or the non-emergency number311, the press release stated.

“All information will be treated with discretion, and confidentiality will be assured,” police stated.
