Hoteliers and livery drivers, tour operators and dive companies, restaurants and airlines — not all seem to make perfect partners, but as they all have a stake in giving Virgin Islands visitors the best possible experience on their trip to the territory, they share a common goal.

They traded ideas as well as contact information last Thursday at Maria’s by the Sea for the first ever BVI Marketplace.

The event was designed to get various stakeholders talking, said BVI Tourist Board Director Sharon Flax-Mars at the opening of the all-day event.

“The idea is that it gives us the opportunity here at BVI Marketplace for our industry personnel, our vendors, our sales agencies and for the team at the BVI Tourist Board, for all of us to interact,” Ms. Flax-Mars said, adding that the BVITB hoped that the various businesses could create packages to offer visitors.
