Hoteliers and livery drivers, tour operators and dive companies, restaurants and airlines – not all seem to make perfect partners, but as they all have a stake in giving Virgin Islands visitors the best possible experience on their trip to the territory, they share a common goal.

They traded ideas as well as contact information Thursday at Maria’s by the Sea for the first ever BVI Marketplace.

The BVI Tourist Board event was designed to get various stakeholders talking, said BVITB Director Sharon Flax-Mars at the opening ceremony.

The BVITB also launched its “Staycation” promotion, airing advertisements of various VI residents’ testimony of the convenience of taking a holiday in the VI rather than travelling.
