A swimmer died at Long Bay, Beef Island last week, according to the Police Information Office.
Shortly after 9 a.m. on Dec. 6, police responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive woman on the beach.
Officers responded with the district doctor, and the woman was transported to the Dr. D. Orlando Hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.
Though police said she was a tourist, they did not provide her name or any other information.
