Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department recently charged two men for separate burglaries in Road Town.

Howard Hughes, 53, of no fixed place of abode, was charged with burgling the Family Support Network on Aug. 27, police said.

He appeared before the Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison.

Glenville Callwood, 28, of Baughers Bay, was charged with burgling Blossoms Florist, police said.

He was granted bail of $5,000 to appear before the Magistrates’ Court on Oct. 11.

Acting Police Commissioner St. Clair Amory commended the officers involved in the arrests.

“I am extremely pleased with the swift and decisive action taken by the Criminal Investigations Department in apprehending and charging these suspects,” he said. “This remarkable display of persistence serves as a powerful reassurance to our community that our law enforcement officers are unwavering in their commitment to combat crime and ensure that offenders are brought to justice.”
