Two inmates have been charged in connection with a stabbing at His Majesty’s Prison shortly after 4 p.m. on May 12, police said last week.
Andreas Norford and Essadro Jefferson were both charged with wounding with intent, according to a four-sentence press release police issued last Thursday. After the stabbing incident, another inmate was transported to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital for medical treatment, police said at the time.
Last Thursday, police said Messrs. Norford and Jefferson had been returned to HMP pending the “next available court date.”
Police have not provided further updates on the incident or the condition of the hospitalised inmate, and attempts to interview prison officials were not successful.
