The Bregado Flax Educational Centre’s Secondary Division postponed its graduation ceremony from July 2 to July 15 because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Please note that in light of recent possible Covid exposure to some individuals who would have been involved in our upcoming graduation ceremony, we made the decision to postpone it until July 15,” Principal Hilroy George said in a statement issued July 2.

Attendees at the July 15 ceremony will be limited to the graduating class and a few participants, he added.

“This will allow us to spread everyone out to give us comfortable spacing,” he said. “All other persons will view the ceremony virtually via Facebook.”

More information will be provided later, Mr. George added.

The BVI Seventh-day Adventist School also was scheduled to livestream a graduation for its secondary division on Saturday, but no such event was streamed.

No announcement or explanation was posted on the school’s webpage or social media channels.
