Dillion Thomas, 28, of Petty Pasture, North Valley, Virgin Gorda, has been charged in relation to a shooting that took place on the island last week.
On July 12, two days after the shooting incident, police charged Mr. Thomas with attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
The 28-year-old was arrested shortly after another man was taken to Peebles Hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. The man is reportedly in stable condition but continued to receive treatment for his injuries as of late last week, according to police.
Though Police Information Officer Diane Drayton initially said in a press release that Mr. Thomas was scheduled to appear in Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, he appeared the following morning.
Kim Hollis, director of public prosecutions, did not respond to a request for comment on the case.
