Aragorn Dick-Read’s dream of building what he believes to be the biggest fireball sculpture in the world came true over the weekend in China.

On Sunday during the 12th Annual China Changchun International Sculpture Symposium, Mr. Dick-Read’s 10-feet-wide creation was lit for an audience that included Chinese spectators and more than 100 other artists from around the world.

“It was an awesome experience,” Mr. Dick-Read said from Beijing on Tuesday.

The Virgin Islander has updated a blog almost daily since he left for China.

“Yesterday I finished the fireball! Signed, sealed and delivered! What a powerful and inspiring experience,” Mr. Dick-Read reported this week.
