When Angelle Cameron was a little girl, she disliked pageantry, preferring to spend time outdoors. But the mother of three recently won an award at the Mrs. Globe competition held in China from Dec. 1-12.

Ms. Cameron, who in May was named Mrs. BVI, was among three beauty queens to represent the Virgin Islands in overseas pageants this month.

Miss World BVI 2015 Sasha Wintz participated in the Caribbean Carnival Queen Pageant over the weekend in St. Kitts, and Miss World BVI 2016 Kadia Turnbull took part in the Miss World Pageant in Washington DC.

Ms. Cameron left China with the award for Most Dynamic Candidate, which is given to the contestant who is seen to most effectively manage a career and a family.
The Harneys worker was also nominated for the Leader of Tomorrow, Most Optimistic and Contestant of the Year awards.

Ms. Wintz also tagged her trip a success.

“Even though I was unsuccessful to receive a title or placement for the Miss Caribbean Carnival Queen Pageant in St. Kitts, I had an awesome and amazing experience,” she stated in a Facebook post on Monday.
Ms. Turnbull posted a similar statement on her Facebook page during the competition.

“This experience will walk with me forever, same as the bonds and friendships created!” she wrote. “It’s extremely uplifting to know that this is not just a competition but also family-like, with genuine souls and love!”
