Based on the traditional Trooping the Colour ceremonies, in which military units perform a march-past and salute to the monarch, the VI’s marchers included police, prison and fire officers; service clubs like the Lions and Girl Guides; the VI Cadet Corps; and other young students, who performed a march-past and salute for Governor Boyd McCleary.

After the salute, Mr. McCleary presented long service awards to police, fire and prison officers who achieved 18-, 25-, and 30-year service milestones this year.
