A man wanted by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force for multiple alleged burglaries and a car theft was found dead Tuesday night from gunshot wounds on St. Thomas, according to a report from the United States VI Police Department.

The report said Mr. Davis, 26, of Long Trench, was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his body in the Tutu High Rise housing community.

Police were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. that night, where they also found a female juvenile with a gunshot injury to her lower back near Mr. Davis. She was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Centre for treatment, the report said.

Officers investigating the crime said Mr. Davis may have been involved in an altercation before he was shot.

The RVIPF put out a report asking for assistance in Mr. Davis’ arrest in July 2012, after officers of the Criminal Investigations Department said they saw him driving a stolen vehicle near Scatliffe Alley.

According to the 2012 report, the deceased fled when officers approached him. The stolen vehicle was left at the scene, the report said.

The USVIPD report said anyone with information about the crime can call the Major Crimes Unit at 340-642-8449, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS, or text information to 274637
