A Virgin Islands delegation is representing the territory this week at one of the world’s largest annual industry gatherings for professionals in scuba diving, ocean sports and adventure travel.
As in past years, the BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission is partnering with the BVI Scuba Organisation to showcase the territory’s underwater offerings at the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association Show in Orlando, Florida.
The event, which started Tuesday and continues through tomorrow, attracts thousands of industry experts and hundreds of exhibitors each year, organisers said.
For decades, VI representatives have been among them.
“The board, in partnership with the BVI Scuba Organisation, has been participating in DEMA for decades as part of our ongoing efforts to showcase the British Virgin Islands as a premier scuba diving destination,” said Perla George, the BVITBFC’s business development director for North America. “While diving remains our primary focus, we also take this opportunity to share updates on the territory’s wide range of land and sea accommodations, along with the many other unforgettable experiences awaiting visitors.”
Among the VI delegates scheduled to join Ms. George at the show are Fravern Collins, senior product officer for cruise, and Alton Bertie, a VI diver and social media influencer.
In addition to showcasing dive sites such as the RMS Rhone, the delegation will promote BVI Wreck Week 2026, which is scheduled for June 21-27, according to the BVITBFC.
