BVICF to host junior event

The third leg of the Blenheim Trust 5k series continues on Saturday.

The race starts at 7 a.m. with registration from 6:30 a.m.  

Registration will be held at Carrot Bay festival grounds. Runners are encouraged to register ealry and warm up.

The Carrot Bay Classic loops from the foot of Windy Hill to the foot of Long Bay hill and back.  The course is completely flat with one speed bump.

This is the last opportunity to complete a three race series.  

Awards will be presented at the end of the series to the top three male and female finishers.  In addition to the Blenheim awards, members of BVI Runners will qualify for age group trophies.

Carrot Bay Classic on Saturday

The BVI Cycling Federation will host its Slaney/Sea Cows Bay Juniors Only Criterium on Sunday.

The race will start at 3 p.m. with registration at 2:45 p.m.

The course begins at Slaney in the vicinity of the former Department of Information and Public Relations Building. Riders will head towards Sea Cows Bay, turning around at the speed bump before the bridge at the Ellis Thomas Downs. They will return to the Prospect Reef Roundabout and back to the start/finish line for one lap. Race distances will be determined on day of the event. The event is open to all junior cyclists.
