The finalists for the $1000 Heineken Challenge Cup have been determined.

Islanders who won 17 of their 18 BVI Football Association Men’s National League regular season matches, are in a familiar position—something that must make them uncomfortable as they prepare to face One Love—the team that has denied them both the Terry Evans Cup and the Wendol “Poto” Williams Cup each time they met.

On Saturday afternoon, they have anther chance at redemption against One Love, after both advanced to the Heineken Challenge Cup final.

One Love advanced by using Colin Green’s hat trick to eliminate the Wolues 3-0 last night, following a physical first half battle that ended in a 0-0 draw and both teams missing their respective opportunities.

Green ended the scoring drought in the 69th then added goals in the 79th and 81st for the victory.

Islanders had a much tougher pressure filled match in getting through, as they played the Sugar Boys to a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation, before finally securing the win on penalty kicks.

After a scoreless first half, Islanders’ Ranelie Caines put them up 1-0 in the 57th minute. Sugar boys draw level in the 90th when Michael Castello scored.

Four minutes Into extra time Darrel Redhead put the Sugar Boys ahead, before a minute later, Rhan Lennon equalized for Islanders, forcing penalty kicks.

Both teams converted their first four chances before the Sugar Boys’ player missed and the Islanders player scored giving them the win and another chance at winning a title.
