A yacht was burglarised at Hodges Creek Marina early Tuesday morning, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

Two masked men, one armed with a gun, reportedly climbed onboard the boat shortly after 1 a.m., demanding money and cell phones from the occupants. They then fled the scene with the electronic items and cash, Ms. Drayton said.

No injuries were reported.

One of the assailants was described as about 6 feet 3 inches and slim, the other about 5 feet 8 inches and stocky.

The description of the perpetrators is similar to that of a May 4 incident where two masked men – one described as 6 feet and 140 pounds and the other as 5 feet 8 inches and 190 pounds – were reported to have robbed a home in Hannahs Estate.

Police are offering a monetary reward to any member of the public who comes forward with information that leads to the identity of the two boat burglars, Ms. Drayton said.

Anyone with information can contact detectives from the Major Crime Team directly at 468-5682 or through the RVIPF access number 311, she said, adding that anonymous tips also can be provided through the Miami-based Crime Stoppers hotline by calling 800-8477.
