The BVI Sports Fishing Association, in partnership with Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, will host the second annual Virgin Gorda International Marlin Tournament.
The tournament will take place July 28-31, with the meeting location at VGYH. More than $23,000 in cash will be handed out to the winners. First place will receive $12,000; second place $7,500 and third place $3,500.
“We are excited to host the second annual VG Marlin Tournament. This year we’ll have additional participating boats so we’ll have a weekend packed with fun activities to enhance the tournament,” said Erik Huber, general manager of Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour.
Fifteen or more boats are expected to compete in the tournament. A “steady organic growth” from last year’s event, according to organisers.
All participants will be given special offers while staying at VGYH; free dockage, free 25-pound bag of ice daily, 15 percent off fuel, complimentary Harbour Hurricane drink at registration and a complimentary continental breakfast courtesy of VGYH.
Registration begins on July 28 and is followed by a “Fun Day” at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour. Family and friends are invited to come out and enjoy fun activities, food and live entertainment.
