Calvin Rabsatt, 66, was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday for raping a 15-year-old relative of his wife.
Mr. Rabsatt pleaded guilty on Oct. 6 to one count of rape and two counts of indecent assault. He was accused of touching and having sex with the girl without her consent.
The incidents were reported after the girl was found to be pregnant. The paternity of the child, who is due to be born in about two months, has not been determined, High Court Justice Indra Hariprashad-Charles said in issuing her sentence.
Mr. Rabsatt was sentenced to eight years in prison for the rape and nine months for each count of indecent assault, with the sentences to run concurrently.
