A man convicted of sex crimes against two young girls was sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison Friday.

Justice Indra Hariprashad-Charles gave Camillus “Jim” Paris a 10-year sentence for the rape of a 7-year-old girl. He also received an additional 15-month sentence for the charge of indecent assault against the girl and her older sister, who was 9 at the time.

Minutes after sentencing Mr. Paris, Ms. Hariprashad-Charles considered the unrelated case of Laren Turnbull, a 41-year-old Soldiers Hill resident who pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary in March. Mr. Turnbull, who admitted to stealing a cell phone and sunglasses from the cabin of two tourists on Jost Van Dyke on March 6, 2010, will spend two and a half years in prison, the justice ruled.
