Last week marked a switch to the new flow of traffic in Road Town, but that’s not the only change to the capital on the horizon.

The Market Square redevelopment is in the advanced stages of planning, as Transportation, Works and Utilities Minister Kye Rymer explained during a June 11 House of Assembly session.

Town and Country Planning partnered with the ministry in May 2019 to render a proposed redesign of the business area.

Architectural drawings completed by 3DE Limited will be made public in the coming weeks, Mr. Rymer said.

Last month, he added, “A successful meeting was held to formally inform the vendors that a temporary site was identified and is being prepared in relation to the plans for the Market Square.”

After the public has a chance to provide input, the drawings will go to the Planning Authority for potential approval.
