This year’s Police Week kicked off with a church service at the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church, which saw the “largest turnout of officers in recent times,” according to a press release from the Police Information Office.

The event also saw a large turnout of police officers from the United States Virgin Islands Police Department led by Deputy Chief of Police Dwayne DeGraff, the release stated.

The church service, led by Pastor Melvin Turnbull, included remarks from acting Police Commissioner David Morris and Police Commissioner Reynell Frazer, who is on pre-retirement leave until June.

Police also hosted an early morning health walk in partnership with Rotarians on Saturday, followed by a “Hats, Shoes and Bags Fashion Extravaganza” at the Blu Lounge in East End that evening, according to the release.

This evening, police officers are inviting the public to the International Food and Karaoke Night at the Road Town Police Station.

At 8 p.m. Thursday, officers will host “the ever-popular” bingo night, which includes cash prizes, the release stated.

Finally, animal enthusiasts are invited to the Queen Elizabeth II Park at 2 p.m. on Saturday, the final day of activities, for a dog show. The show will be followed by a drill display by officers of the RVIPF and the VI Cadet Corps, according to the release.
