The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force will no longer include the names of people who have been arrested in its weekly arrest blotter, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said yesterday.

Ms. Drayton disclosed this information shortly after sending out a blotter with all names omitted, but she declined to comment on who created the new policy or why it was established.

Earlier this month, Ms. Drayton also declined a request to provide a copy of the RVIPF Confidentiality, Crime and Media Policy.

“I have been advised that the RVIPF Media Policy forms part of a list of internal operational policies and not for public consumption,” she wrote in response to a request for the document. “Therefore the answer is no.”
