The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly burglarising a Waterfront Drive restaurant, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

John Creque, 20, of McNamara, was arrested and charged with burglary after being questioned by the Criminal Investigations Unit, police said.

Ms. Drayton added that Mr. Creque admitted to the crime, and that all the money was returned to the establishment after his confession.

She said reports indicate that the restaurant owner and a worker entered the establishment around 10 a.m. on Tuesday to find the float missing from the cash register. Footage from a surveillance camera showed a male entering the building and breaking into the register, she said.

Police declined to release the name of the establishment.
